DR. DEWAYNE GAMMEL

DR. DEWAYNE GAMMEL

Family Medicine

Dr. Gammel is board certified in Family Medicine, and a diplomat of the American Academy of Family Practice. He is a member of the Southern Medical Association, Mississippi State Medical Association, and the Mississippi Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Gammel attended medical school at the University of Mississippi, and he completed his residency at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

DR. STEVEN RUSHING

Family Medicine

Dr. Rushing graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1991 and completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in 1994. He is board certified in Family Medicine, and is also certified in ACLS, PALS and ATLS. He is currently a member of the Mississippi State Medical Association and American Academy of Family Physicians.

Psychiatry

Dr. Cassada graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1991 and completed her General Psychiatry residency in 1995. She is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Mississippi Psychiatric Association and the Southern Psychiatric Association. She served on the Mississippi State Board of Mental Health from 2005 to 2015, acting as the Chairman in 2009. She enjoys gardening and traveling in her spare time. She is married to her husband, Ron, and has two adult children.

Dr. William Harper

Family Medicine

Dr. Harper is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Harper attended medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV and completed his residency at University of Alabama at Birmingham in Selma, AL in 1989. He is a member of Mississippi State Medical Association and American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Harper is also a certified Instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and a certified Provider in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advance Life Support.

JULIA JOHNSON, FNP

JULIA JOHNSON, FNP

Nurse Practitioner

Julia Johnson received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She then went on to further her career earning a Master of Science in Nursing, graduating with academic honors.  Julia is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the Mississippi Nurse’s Association, Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

In addition to practicing at Tyler Holmes Carrollton Clinic, Julia enjoys spending time with her husband and children, teaching Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Winona, serving the community through Junior Auxiliary of Winona and playing tennis.

MAGGIE TAYLOR, FNP

MAGGIE TAYLOR, FNP

Nurse Practitioner

Maggie Taylor received a bachelor’s degree in nursing, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from The University of Mississippi Medical Center. After working for the next several years as a registered nurse, she went on to obtain her master’s degree in nursing from the Mississippi University for Women, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Mississippi Nurses Association.

In addition to practicing at Crossroads Family Medicine, Maggie enjoys spending time with her husband and son, playing tennis, community involvement, and being outdoors.

ELIZABETH KELLY, NP

ELIZABETH KELLY, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Elizabeth Kelly received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS. She continued her education at Walden University completing a master’s degree in nursing, graduating magna cum laude. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with 26 years of nursing experience. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Mississippi Nurses Association.

STEPHANIE MYERS, NP

STEPHANIE MYERS, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Stephanie Myers received an Associates’s Degree in Nursing through Holmes Community College. After working for almost a decade in nursing care, she pursued her interest in advancing her nursing career and earned her Master’s Degree of Nursing through the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

She is certified through The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board. Stephanie is a member of the Mississippi Nurses Association.

Amy Gammel

Amy Gammel

Nurse Practitioner

Amy Gammel received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with honors, from Mississippi University for Women. While obtaining her BSN, Amy worked as an EMT and ER technician. During her time as a Registered Nurse, she served in the emergency room at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Greenwood Leflore Hospital, and St. Dominic Hospital. She was Nationally Certified as an Emergency Nurse. She spent time working in Women’s health and Labor & Delivery at St. Dominic Hospital, where she also obtained National Certification as a Labor & Delivery nurse. After moving to Winona with her family, Amy worked as the School Nurse for Winona Elementary School, where she also obtained her National Certification as a School Nurse.

Amy is certified in ACLS and PALS and as a CPR-Instructor. She has taught ACLS, PALS, and Newborn Resuscitation in the past. She is also certified as an asthma and diabetic educator and as a Medicaid EPSDT provider.

Amy obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, focusing on Family Practice, and graduating with honors. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Mississippi Nurses Association, and the National and Mississippi Associations of School Nurses. She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurses at both MUW and UMMC. 

Amy enjoys spending time with her family and at Ahava Ministries in Guatemala.

Sabrina Matthews

Sabrina Matthews

Nurse Practitioner

Sabrina Matthews has spent her entire career in Nursing and caring for others. She was a Registered Nurse for 10 years before she received her Master’s of Science in Nursing-Administration in 2011 from Delta State University in Cleveland , MS. Sabrina worked for Greenwood Leflore Hospital for a few years and then went back to Delta State to complete the Post Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner training and graduated with honors in 2016. Sabrina is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is an active member of the Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Mississippi Nurses Association. Sabrina is married and has two children. Sabrina will be working in the Winona Family Practice Fast Track clinic.
